Birthday Boyz!

Three. He's Three. I still say two when I asked how old Porter is and his birthday was in April. I'm in denial and I know it. I want to keep him tiny and speaking with funny grammar mistakes forever. Even he can tell he's getting older. Yesterday while we were driving in the car, the sun beaming in through the windows, he calls out from the back seat "Look Mom! My legs are getting furry like daddy's!" I knew I needed to write that one down, it makes me want to laugh as much as cry.

So with that, birthday's are bitter sweet. We celebrate them, but who really wants to?

You will always "save my day" Porter.

Decorating his cape for his super hero themed party. He didn't take his mask or cape off for days!

His favorite character "Super Why", and the emblem he wears on his chest. Of course his favorite super hero wears a book on his chest. He's so smart, I know I'm his mom, but he really is.

Us proud parents. We love him!!!!!

p.s. yes the photos were taken with a point and shoot, blugh! I'm just happy I got in some of them! It's a momentous occasion around here.

Corban go the best present for his birthday. He was supposed to get his cast replaced by a soft cast, and after his x-ray, the doctor said he was good enough to go without a cast at all. So off to the cabin in Shuswap we went that very day where he got to play for over a week in dirt and sand and waves where little boys are meant to be.
So we did a little party for him there and I made his cake in the shape of his first word: duckie!

Can you tell I'm having fun with fondant? Ok, not real fondant, that would be impossible out at the cabin. I used a cheat marshmallow recipe, and for a cheat, it tasted better than the real deal. No joke.

Look at you making fondant cakes for birthdays- so talented! I'd be scared to attempt that. I'm so impressed with your creativity, you never cease to amaze me. Hope all is well and sorry I missed seeing you more at the cabin. We should get together soon.
